April 24, 2021 | Discovery Park, Boise, Idaho
Join us we come together in healing and community. Find a connection with other widows while enjoying lunch, guided activities, and healing inspiration. Space is limited to twelve participants and the gathering will be held outside under a covered park area setting. We will practice all COVID-19 recommended practices.
The retreat begins at 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Lucky Peak State Park at Discovery Unit
9725 E Highway 21, Boise Idaho 83716
* This is a non-therapeutic but professionally moderated event.
Upon arrival by 11:00 on Saturday morning, you will be greeted by our gracious team of fellow widowed women. Take some time to enjoy the fresh air, check out the Boise river, and introduce yourself to new friends. As we settle into our day together, we gather to introduce ourselves and begin relaxing into a supportive atmosphere.
While the bird's chirp and the river flows just beyond our meeting area, lunch will be served with the gentle hum of sharing that continues to feed your heart with an understanding community. After lunch, guided sessions by our in-house facilitator, Marni Henderson, will offer opportunities to express, release and acknowledge the widow experience.
With a short break and a serving of the famous Marg's Chocolate Cake, we continue our guided sessions which lead us to the closing ceremonies-and well, we need to leave something for your imagination! As you drive away by 4:30, our hope is that you leave with a deep sense of hope, connection, validation, and renewed energy to continue your journey.
There is room for laughter, tears, quiet observation, contemplation, and everything in between. Unlike a support group where sharing of stories is part of the healing process, during this gathering, we will focus on connecting with those who "see" us, discover ways to navigate our daily lives with our wellbeing as a priority, honor our widow wisdom and enjoy some amazing chocolate cake!
Please remember: what is shared at retreat, stays at the retreat!
There is power, drinking water, and restroom facilities at Discovery Park. We encourage participants to bring something to drink, weather-appropriate clothing, and willing hearts!
Join us in discovering your next stepping stone and springboard of hope!
